[New Category: Corp de ballet]

KIDC 2022 will have Corp de ballet Category! Challenge yourselves for the basic skills, which are essential for ballet pieces. You may not be able to find this category anywhere else in Japan except for here at KIDC. Here is the overview of this category.

– 13 years old or older (as of 1 Jan. 2022)
– Point shoes required
– 5 or more dancers per group
– Corp de ballet only (No soloists)
– Entry fee: JPY 54,000 for a group of 5 dancers
(Each additional 1 dancer: JPY 7,000)
– Choose a piece from below and perform max. 4 min. (part can be arbitrary)

– Nutcracker, Act 2, Flower Walz
– Swan Lake, Act 2, Dances of Swans
– The Sleeping Beauty, Act 2
– Don Quixote, Act 2
– Paquita
– La Bayadère, Act 3, Dance of spirits
– Coppélia, Act 3, Waltz of the Hours
– Les Sylphides

KIDC 2022 will be held on 30 Mar. – 1 Apr. 2022. The entry site will be open on 1 Nov. 2021 (Entry will be closed when the number reaches the limit). Look forward to seeing you dancing in this Category!
